HSDP informational meeting and student testing for 2011-12 school year:
TBD

The High School Diploma Program was founded and exists to support and enhance the home-based experience.  We believe there is a tremendous value in parent-partnered education due to the direct and active involvement of parents in their children's education.  Therefore, our goal is to find ways to promote and affirm the value of the teaching parent, as well as to develop and support the education program of each of our students.

The High School Diploma Program is designed to allow families of high school students (grades 9-12) to earn a high school diploma upon completion of essential graduation requirements in a home-based setting.  Credit is earned through completion of an alternative learning experience plan that includes details for the completion of each course of study.  Students and parents meet regularly with a certified teacher consultant.  Consultants monitor curriculum, student progress toward demonstrating mastery of specific skills and knowledge and hours spent learning.

Choices for obtaining credits through the High School Diploma Program:

  • Contracted learning in a home-based setting.
  • Attending High School Diploma Program core classes taught by certified staff.
  • Online courses accessible by computers at home or at school.
  • Attending HomeLink Creative Classes as  a part of a learning contract.
  • Combination of any or all of the above.
