Winter Weather - Message from Principal
As we approach the winter season and the likelihood of school closures, late starts or early closures, I like to remind families to be sure to have a plan for checking for these weather related events and responding to them. Early school closure is usually the one that throws both the school and parents into some confusion. It is extremely important that we have accurate contact information, phone and email. We will use ConnectEd again this year to notify families, but only for programs or classes that are scheduled to start before 9:00 and for early closures. Otherwise, you need to use the regular systems of reporting - TV, radio, BG Snowline 885-5343 and BGSD web site, www.battlegroundps.org. Last year the District went to 2.5 hour late start and a system of identifying north end, south end or all district closures. For HomeLink, ignore the 2.5 hour statement and refer to the information below for our start times. The all District closure is easy for families to understand, the partial closures are harder. Please be aware that because our HomeLink students come from all over the county - north and south -any partial district closure constitutes a HomeLink closure. School closures also apply to our off site classes.
Please note the following program specific start times for late starts:
Scheduled Parent Meetings begin with 10:00 appointments
Creative Classes begin with 10:30 classes (Exceptions are: Primary Learning Center, Beacock, Medallion Art & YMCA which will have 10:00 start times if scheduled on day of late start)
