Parent-partnering works! It brings maximum benefit and progress for the student, as they have a team of support, of invested, caring adults. I am entering my fourth year at HomeLink.
I am a mother of five (some home-schooling experience) and have a Masters in Teaching - Washington State University, and a B.A. - Journalism - Western Washington University.

I choose to work in a parent partnered program because most parents in our program are willing to give more of their time for their students education which allows for great interaction between teacher-students-parents.

Returning to teach Creative Classes for a second year is an exciting opportunity for me. Homelink’s parent partnered programs represent a true team work approach to education. Honoring the unique goals and needs of each family, Homelink’s programs provide me a variety of opportunities to inspire and engage students to actively get involved in learning while guiding and supporting parents in their desire to homeschool.

Nancy Fertig

Nancy, an experienced home-schooling parent, has been a part of HomeLink for fifteen years and has taught or served in every HomeLink Department. As department chair for Creative Classes, her commitment to partnering with home-schooling families helps set the tone for all we do. Besides consulting with Creative Class staff and meeting with HomeLink’s Parent Advisory Team, next year she will cultivate writers in “Writing IV” and inspire technology and marketplace literacy in “Computer Applications for Business.”

Natalie, a CAM graduate who is pursuing a degree in History and a minor in English, is also an avid photographer and aspiring documentary filmmaker. She is excited about exploring history and American culture with her students and getting them just as excited about these subjects as she is! A Christian Youth Theater (CYT) trained thespian, Natalie is also looking forward to inspiring students to explore their “actor-within” as she teaches our “Principles of Theater” class. Natalie understands students who thrive on learning by creatively exploring the subject in a “hands on” manner. She will bring this passion for inspiring students to explore and express their creativity to HomeLink’s returning class offerings as she teaches “Globe Trotters: American History 3-5,” "Principles of Theater," and “Digital Photography.”
